Hartford, CT, Nov. 15, 2010 — Like all good social media, BizBuzz has changed in response to the wisdom of the crowd. Instead of the previously scheduled, all-day BizBuzz Social Media Conference on Nov. 16 its presenters have decided to hold a more intimate event, the BizBuzz Social Media Summit on the same date – Tuesday, Nov. 16.

The BizBuzz Social Media Summit will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 16 from 11:30 – 5:30 at City Steam Brewery Hartford CT. Cost is $25.00 per attendee which includes lunch. “This will be a more open, casual format with many of the same presenters we previously scheduled, but they’ll be doing shorter workshops with a more open Q & A format,” points out conference chair, Kathy Hokunson, Sales and Marketing VP, Site-Seeker. Site-Seeker is the presenter of the BizBuzz Social Media Summit. “The amazing thing was how this came about. We were getting the word that a lot of people couldn’t come to the larger event due to competition from a number of other conferences. At first, we thought we’d have to cancel it, but when the word got out the speakers, those who wanted to attend and members of the business community started a social media buzz, telling us they didn’t want it to be cancelled entirely. Together we created the BizBuzz Social Media Summit last Friday in response to the wisdom of the crowd. In a sense, we just lived through the exact reason that social media has become such an important part of the business landscape – it gives people a voice. We heard that voice and, so the BizBuzz Social Media Summit was born.” She stressed that a full-day BizBuzz Social Media Conference will take place in the Fall of 2011, with Social Media Summits similar to Tuesday’s leading up to it throughout the year.

The program will look like this: Presentations and discussions from 11:30 to 4:00, with lunch included in the program. At 4:30, social media pioneer, Brent Robertson of Fathom will talk about the importance of Building a Sustainable Community. The Summit will wrap up with a Tweet Crawl social gathering, sponsored by Site-Seeker. The Tweet Crawl is open to both conference attendees and anyone else who would like to discuss social media.

Due to the revised format, everyone who wants to attend, even those who previously registered for the BizBuzz Social Media Conference, must register. You can pre-regsiter online at www.bizbuzzsocialmediaconference.com or at the door. Walk-ins welcome.
